Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.
Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

Trained as a computational biologist in the field of development and evolution (Universidad de Antioquia, BSc. and MSc.) and biochemistry and biotechnology with a focus on evolutionary systems biology (Ghent University, PhD.). More than 9 years of expertise in developing and applying systems biology-oriented mathematical modeling, evolutionary algorithms and combinatorial optimization methods, multimodal data analysis and visualization methods. Ability to deploy across high performance computing systems sophisticated mathematical modeling frameworks, data analysis pipelines and bioinformatics workflows to address complex biological phenomena.
