Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.
Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

Abstract |
Ce livre est le deuxième ouvrage traitant des fonds marins et du littoral français, un premier volume sur les côtes méditerranéennes ayant déjà été édité en 1994. Après un court passage sur les conditions générales (topographie, hydrologie, biogéographie…) en Atlantique, Manche et Mer du Nord, viennent trois chapitres consacrés à la description des biocénoses: biocénoses planctoniques, benthiques puis certaines phytocénoses et biocénoses remarquables ou particulièrement menacées (falaises, dunes, herbier zostères…). L’ouvrage continue par une partie importante sur l’aménagement, la pollution et l’exploitation des ressources (tourisme, pêche, exploitation pétrolière…). Il se termine par un chapitre sur la conservation et la gestion des écosystèmes littoraux et marins. |
